課程概述

This course will include readings of a selected novel, selected articles, listening comprehension, speaking activities, oral presentations and practices in writing. Students in this class are encouraged to speak in English, participate in class discussions and instructional activities. You are also required to hand in written assignments.
Activities in class will include the following:
(A) Introduction of partner
You will choose a classmate to introduce to the class and your partner will introduce you. The introduction will be 10 – 15 minutes long and you may use PowerPoint to enhance your report.
(B) Introduction of play
You will form your own group and perform an English drama. There will be no limit on duration of act or number of characters.
 

課程目標
This course is designed to strengthen the English reading, listening, speaking, and writing abilities of college freshman students. Students will participate in several activities with an emphasis on improving communication and expression. Both language and literature will be studied with the aim of developing proficiency in communication. 
課程要求
• Students are expected to attend all class sessions.
• If you are absent a note (a written explanation) must be presented to explain the reason for the absence. When you miss classes remember it is your responsibility to find out what you missed.
• If you are absent three times, please come to see me immediately.
• Assignments are due on the day announced in class. All assignments must be submitted ON TIME. Late assignments will not be accepted. So prepare your assignments in advance.
• All class assignments will be typed and printed out on standard sized (A4) paper.
